Hotline network

Direct lines with no dialling, from control rooms to the posts that need an answer now. Three SMART hotlines cover one pair of copper, PA paging on pick-up, and single-mode fibre between sites.

Three hotline links. HT-I: one controller with battery backup and up to four desktop phones on a single pair. HT-A: two desktop phones with loudspeakers; lifting one handset pages at the other end; up to 1 km. HT-IP: phone, SMART IP controller, single-mode fibre up to 10 km, SMART IP controller, phone.HT-IControllerbattery backupdesk phonedesk phonedesk phonedesk phonesingle pair · controller anywhere on the lineHT-AController2-core 0.5 sq mm · up to 1 kmlift → other end pagesHT-IPIP controllersingle-mode fibre · up to 10 kmIP controller

How it works

  1. 01

Pick the link: HT-I for up to 4 desktop phones on one pair, HT-A when the far end should page over a loudspeaker, HT-IP when the sites are linked by fibre.

  2. 02

Phones connect to a SMART controller on a single pair of non-critical telephone cable; HT-A supports loops up to 1 km.

  3. 03

Lift a handset: HT-I and HT-IP ring the other end until it is answered; HT-A puts the other unit straight into paging on its loudspeaker.

  4. 04

The answering handset makes the call private and full duplex.

  5. 05

Replace the handsets and the line resets. HT-I and HT-A controllers carry built-in battery backup for power failures.
