Power
Power is one of the three core industries SMART has served, alongside cement and steel. Line-powered phones, PA systems and hotlines connect the control room with field and outdoor posts.

Outdoor posts in rain and dust. WMHS-IIIWP is fully line powered in a cast-aluminium canopy housing, so there is no local supply to fail.

The control room needs a direct line to key posts. HT-I rings up to 4 phones on one pair, and HT-IP links two sites over single-mode fibre up to 10 km.

Announcements must reach the whole site. MCS-II and MCS-III give zone and all-call paging, and ISAS repeats recorded safety messages on a timer.
